چکیده
Introduction: A unique feature of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is the presence CD4+ T cells that surround, protect, and promote survival tumor cells. It was described primary EBV infection elicits EBV-specific with cytotoxic proteins. Since in Argentina, a high incidence EBV-associated pediatric cases, our aim to evaluate influence on CD4+T at microenvironment patients. Methods: 42 patients HL were included this study. evaluated by EBERs situ hybridization (ISH) LMP1 immunohistochemistry (IHC). CD4, CD8, Foxp3, Tbet, GrB, IL10, PD1 CD56 markers analyzed IHC. Survival Kaplan Meier analysis. Results: expression HRS observed 78% ISH Mean cell count not statistically different between EBV+ EBV- (p > 0.05, MW test). However, when functional evaluated, exclusively positively correlated GrB+ = 0.008, r 0.473, Spearman), whereas neither Foxp3+ nor Tbet+ showed statistical correlation Spearman). also displayed positive CD56+ cells, as marker NK 0.006, 0.488, while, contrast, cases trend negative demonstrated 0.06, -0.686, Furthermore, did show In addition, 0.001, 0.536; p 0.04, 0.364, respectively) 0.013, 0.444, All those correlations cases. Background & Objectives: The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV( is related with various diseases including infectious mononucleosis, Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and post-transplant lymphoprolifrative disorders. The aim of this study was to characterize the association between EBV and Hodgkin's lymphoma through EBERs in situ hybridization (EBER-ISH) in Iranian pat...
متن کاملEpstein-Barr virus and the origin of Hodgkin lymphoma
Although Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is present in the malignant Hodgkin/Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells of a proportion of cases of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), how the virus contributes to the pathogenesis of this disease remains poorly defined. It is clear from the studies of other EBV-associated cancers that the virus is usually not sufficient for tumor development and that other oncogenic co-...

An altered anti-Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) serologic profile preceding diagnosis is associated with an increased risk of Hodgkin lymphoma. It is unknown whether this atypical pattern predicts Hodgkin lymphoma risk further subdivided by determination of EBV in tumor cells. A nested case-control study of 128 incident Hodgkin lymphoma cases and 368 matched controls from active-duty military personne...
متن کاملAssociation between Epstein - Barr Virus (EBV) and Breast Cancer
Background: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in females worldwide. Several etiological factors including environmental factors have been recognized for breast cancer. Epstein Barr virus as a viral etiological factor has been proposed. So far, several studies have investigated the relationship between development of breast cancer and Epstein Barr virus, but few have been done in Iran....
متن کاملFrequency of epstein-barr virus in classical hodgkin Lymphoma.
BACKGROUND Epstein-Barr virus plays an important role in pathogenesis of Hodgkin lymphoma. The first patient with Epstein-Barr positive Reed Sternberg cells was described in 1985. Since then association between Epstein-Barr virus and Hodgkin lymphoma has been shown in many parts of the world and its occurrence shows significant variation from continent to continent and from country to country. ...
